Desunin was developed and launched 4 years ago in response to an unmet need for licenced vegetarian vitamin D3.
Desunin 800IU is licensed for the prevention and treatment of vitamin D deficiency in adults and adolescents1,2. It may be necessary to consider the adjunctive use of supplemental calcium in patients being treated with specific osteoporosis treatments.1,2
Desunin 4000IU tablets are licensed for the treatment of vitamin D deficiency in adults and adolescents. Supplemental calcium should be considered as an adjunct to specific osteoporosis treatments.2
Desunin was also formulated to accommodate the needs of at risk patients who have dysphagia, or difficulty swallowing tablets and capsules. The tablets are crushable and can be taken with food.1,2
Desunin is available in two strengths, 4000IU tablets (70s)2 and 800IU tablets1 (in 30s and 90s), providing flexibility of dosing, and the ability to restore vitamin D levels dependent on patient needs.
